Text promo codes and coupons

I'll bet that you and your significant other spend a lot of time texting each other! You know, you can use your texting plan to save money, too!

Some companies are using new marketing tactic: text message coupon/codes! I use these all the time! The company posts signage (at the store) asking customers to text a word or number to a certain number. The customers then periodically receive text messages with promo codes, offers and heads up about sales. I receive texts from Tropical Smoothie Cafe, a local shoe store and Redbox (free rental every month!). They don't get annoying...in fact, yesterday I got lunch for less than $2 with a Tropical Smoothie text. How awesome is that! 

This post was more of a reminder to take advantage of this kind of marketing, because it can actually pay off. Don't knock it till you try it! (Plus, you can always unsubscribe!)
